Professional Development is intended to fulfill requirements for license renewal and recertification when the student has obtained proper prior approval. Please verify with your state licensing board that Teaching Channel professional development will meet your needs. This course provides basic and in-depth information on mental health in schools. Course participants will review information on specific types of mental health disorders, warning signs, suicide prevention, and provision of accommodations for students with mental health challenges. Participants will also review resources to assist with the development and/or revision of suicide prevention plans, accessing local resources, and developing activities to reduce the stigma of mental health. Access to Professional Development courses is available for 12 months from the registration date. **You will receive a Teaching Channel Letter of Completion for 10 clock hours (university graduate credit/transcript is not available).
