Today’s learners have differing strengths, individual interests, divergent learning styles, and varying needs. Differentiation provides an avenue to meet each student where they are and improve educational outcomes for all. This course includes an overview of the pedagogy surrounding differentiation. Additionally, participants will learn and apply methods of differentiation for both English learners and students with special needs. The course also touches on the following topics as they relate to differentiation, students with disabilities, and English learners: Culturally Responsive Teaching, Formative Assessment, Gradual Release of Responsibility, Vocabulary Instruction, Universal Design for Learning, and more!  Based on the approval of your district or state institution, this course content may align with the Massachusetts license renewal requirements of: 
15 PDPs in pedagogy (professional skills and knowledge), 15 PDPs related to Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL), and 15 PDPs related to training in strategies for effective schooling for students with disabilities and the instruction of students with diverse learning styles. This course totals 67.5 PDPs.
